Ferdy put on a ring to his wife's finger and alternately Sandy would put Ferdy's ring to her husband's finger.

Marriage settlement : handing taking over wedding present

Ferdy handed over the wedding present to his wife Sandy. As mentioned before the wedding present consist of praying equipment amount of money.

Marriage Settlement : solemnization of marriage

Based on Moslem legal I should marry off my daughter by myself or asked the clerk of the office of religion affairs to marry of my daughter. But I believed that both Sandy and Ferdy would be satisfied when I married off them by myself.

I said " I married off my daughter Sandy to you Ferdy with the wedding present consist of praying equipment and 281.207 rupiah cash"
Ferdy shouted immediatelly " I agreed to marry Sandy with that wedding present cash "

After marriage settlement we prayed lead by the head of the office of religion affairs. The next step was handing taking over the wedding present. We could see the next pictures.

Ferdy Hence Matindas was also put his signature on the document indicated he agrred to marry Sandy .

This was very important event in the ocassion of wedding ceremony. Sandy would like to get married to Ferdy her husband legally. I should put my signature on the document which explaned that Sandy is my daughter.

Not only food but in this occasion Sandy also got gift from us. That was skirt,shirts, shoes, soaps etc. This was also symbolized the last stuff we gave to our daughter. After that her husband should take this reponsible from us.

Anita feeded her daughter Sandy. Again, this was very fascinating moment. It symbolized the last feeding from mother to her daughter who will get married the next day. After getting married of course her husband has responsible to feed his wife.

Anita start cutting baked chicken and also took everything from tampah and then put them on the dish where the top of the tumpeng which I've cut on it.

After praying lead by my uncle I was honored to to cut the top of tumpeng robyong. This part will be given to Sandy.

Tumpeng Robyong luncheon: what is this ?

Tumpeng robyong consist of rice, various vegetables, fried or baked chicken, spicy tofu, spicy fish etc. Normally we use tampah or winnow ( a kind of a round of basket ) to put Tumpeng Robyong. One Tumpeng Robyong is enough to be served for a group people ( 8-10 people )

I and Anita guided Sandy to attend "Tumpeng Robyong " luncheon. We also invited our relatives and neighbours to join with us at this occasion.

Look at the picture. It was very crowded,wasn't it ? They like dawet very much as well as they also were thirsty to wait for us. They wouln't to stand in a queue he..he..he

I beleived that Anita was very thirsty after attending bathing ritual. She also taste a glass of dawet. It was romantic picture, was't it ??

What is dawet ?? Dawet is a kind of Javanese beverage made of flavour ,water,coconut milk, sugar and than stired and boiled. We also put some of ice before being served. You can see the picture above. Before seling this beverage we gave toy money made of earthenware to all people who watched this ritual. They gave that money to us and we gave them a glass of dawet. It was alot of fun. Before selling that dawet I have to taste it to ensure dawet is nice. Wow... it's so sweet and tasty.

As soon as the bride bathing ritual finished I asked Anita Purwati (my wife ) to proceed to the dawet selling place. Some people has been waiting over there. What lookes funny ?? Yes, you right. I took an umbrella while we were at the living room. This was symbolized I protected my wife whenever and wherever. Let's go to the venue !!

Bride bathing ritual: finishing touch

After bathing ritual I and my wife guided Sandy to go to her bedroom. Sandy will get dress and makeover by the " perias ". Actually I should carried Sandy on my back. But I refused to do that since Sandy is very fat and heavy. I am sorry Sandy..ha... ha... ha...

Bride bathing ritual : hair cut

After bathing process I cut some pieces of Sandy's hair guided by "perias ". Perias is a woman who dress up the bride. This ritual symbolized that Sandy is as a mature woman from now on.

Look at the fragment of the pitcher I destroyed. Some time we put many coins in that pitcher. While the pitcher destroyed all coin spreaded everywhere and people who watched this ritual snatched those coins happily.

This was an amazing action. I destroyed the pitcher by hit it to the floor while shouting " Wis pecah pamore " means " Sandy's aura has opened ". This ritual symbolized the hope of the parent that her daughter look more neat,beautiful, smart, splendid and elegant to overcome her wedding ceremony.

I poured plain water to Sandy for the purpose of wudhu. Wudhu is a moslem ritual to cleanse itself of minor ritual impurity so that herself becomes sacred. I used a plitcher to pour water.

Mrs. Sabariyah ( she is Anita's mother) also got her turn to bath Sandy. Again, Sandy closed her eyes to protect them being splashed.

Let me tell you. The bride bathing ritual consist of 9 women to bath the bride. If one woman takes 5 minutes long to bath the bride, the bathing ritual will take minimum 45 minutes.

Anita got second turn to bath her youngest daughter. I knew that she very worked hard to take care Sandy when Sandy was a small girl. Look at Sandy. She closed her eyes to avoid water entering her eyes.
